Portable Phone Charger: Zendure External Battery Review
I have been looking for a portable phone charger for a while now. With Mattias being a Pokemon GO fanatic whenever we travel, and me, well, I am either taking photos or on facebook, so my poor, well loved iPhone 6 gets a workout.
I have been given a few freebie mobile power banks, and they work in a pinch to get me at least some juice, but I found they would often not give my phone even a full charge.
I tested out the Zendure A5 and the A2 portable chargers and here is what I think:
QUICK CHARGING
With not even full power, the A5 charged my phone from less than 20% to full quite quickly! It is exactly what I needed!
DURABLE
They are durable and the rubber around it makes them shockproof. I dropped it out of my bag and not a mark on it.
COMPACT
The Zendure models are compact and light weight. the A5 is just over 11 oz and the A2 is less than 5 oz.
HOLD CHARGE
The Zendure power banks hold their charge. After 6 months they still hold 95% charge

Technical specs:
Capacity: 16750 mAh 3.7V 62Wh
Size: 5” x 2.9” x 1”
Output: 2 USB ports
Product Life: Over 500 charge – discharge cycles
Battery Cell: Lithium-ion
Weight 11.4 oz
Best Used for: Mobile Phones, Tablets, Ipods, Cameras, e-readers, portable game consoles. These do not, however have enough juice for charging my drone (which I really wish they would! That 15 minute fly time gets eaten up real quick!)
The size and weight of the A5, and of course the amount of charging capacity, were my main concerns. I love the two port output, as we do travel with a couple phones, a tablet, a go pro, and the charge thru function (meaning the devices hooked up to the battery can be charged, while the battery is being charged), means we have two ports to charge, using only one plug! When you only have a few converters and are not in North America (like most of our recent trips), a couple extra ports will go a long way.
It came with the charging cord, and a small pouch, but I wish the outlet adapter was also included. Those seem to be tough to come by in electronics these days. But I have a few from my phones laying around, and am also able to charge the A5 when it is hooked up to my computer.
Price wise, you can see it on Amazon here.

I really wish this one had two USB ports, but it is great when I am out by myself. If I am out with the kids I will bring the A5 so they can keep their electronics charged as well!

Overall the Zendure A5 is the best portable phone charger that I have tried. It is now a staple in my carry-on and will be coming with me when we visit the Middle East next week.
